Submissions
Publication Schedule
The University Gazette is a University publication. Its mission is to
build a sense of campus community by communicating information relevant
and vital to faculty and staff and to advance the University’s overall
goals and messages. The editor reserves the right to decide what
information will be published in the Gazette and to edit submissions for
consistency with Gazette style, tone and content.

Submissions
Contact us as early as possible and describe your story or idea, and we will let you know if we can include it in the Gazette.
Material must be submitted in written form. You can use the Got News? link in the blue banner above, or you can contact us by e-mail at gazette@unc.edu. Be sure to include your name and telephone number in case our staff needs more information. Material may also be sent by campus mail (CB #6205).
The editor reserves the right to decide what information will be published in the Gazette, a University publication, and to edit submissions for consistency with Gazette style, tone and content.
Calendar Submissions
The calendar lists events, as space allows, of general interest that are open to faculty and staff, sponsored by Carolina departments, and held within Orange County.
The Gazette encourages your submissions, but because of space constraints and the increasing volume of submissions, the calendar has been scaled back and not all submitted events will be posted. The Carolina Events Calendar is the source for a comprehensive list of campus events and we enourage you to list your news there.
When making a submission, include all necessary information, such as:
Sponsoring department or organization;
Date, time and location of event;
Title;
Presenter(s) and position or affiliation;
Fee;
Additional information, including registration deadline; and
Phone number and/or e-mail and web address for readers to obtain more information and to register for the event.

Include the Gazette on your campus mail and e-mail lists.
Send us your newsletter.
News Services' releases do not always reach us by our deadline, so do not rely on News Services to get material to us.
Publication Schedule
Publication schedule is subject to change.
Notes:
If a deadline falls on a University holiday, the deadline will be moved back to the Friday before the holiday and will be marked with an asterisk (*) below.
The Oct. 14 publication date is a Thursday, to accommodate coverage of University Day on Oct. 12. Deadline for submissions will not be affected.
