Financial education seminar for women scheduled

Many more women are responsible for their families' finances than in the past. It is estimated that 90 percent of all women will be solely responsible for their finances at some point in their lives.

To help the University's female employees plan for that reality, TIAA-CREF will hold a financial education seminar for women on March 25 from 2 to 3 p.m in Room 1301 of McGavran-Greenberg Hall.

Topics will include:

* Financial planning basics and setting goals;

* Understanding investments;

* The importance of protecting assets against inflation; and

* The value of tax-deferred annuities.

Sponsored by the Benefits Department, the seminar is designed to provide the tools, resources and the information necessary for women to take charge of their financial futures.

The class limit is 100. No pre-registration required.
