Lucy Taylor Allen, mayor of Louisburg, recently was elected president of the Institute of Government Foundation.
Allen has been mayor of Louisburg since 1985. She also is first vice president of the N.C. League of Municipalities and sits on the advisory council of the National League of Cities. She has served on a wide range of other local, state and national committees advocating leadership and improving government.
