Children's photos portray five religious traditions

Children's photographs illustrating religions and communities somewhat new to North Carolina will be exhibited March 14 through June 6 at the Ackland Art Museum.

The exhibit, "Visions of Faith: Photographs by Wendy Ewald and Children," will open with a free reception from 4 to 6 p.m. March 14 at the museum.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the Museum is sponsoring a gallery talk with co-curator Wendy Ewald, March 18 from 12:15 p.m. to

1 p.m. The talk is free and open to the public. The nearly 70 images of prayer, home

rituals and community gatherings will hang beside art works from the Ackland's own

collection that represent the five traditions presented: Islam, Catholicism, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism.

For more information, call 6-5736 (museum office) or 2-0837 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
