Peter I. Kaufman, Joseph C. Lowman, Donald E. Luse, Risa I. Palm, Kenneth Reckford, Robert Sullivan
These six faculty members and administrators were named honorary members of Carolina's Golden Key National Honor Society Chapter. Kaufman is a religious studies professor. Lowman is associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and a psychology professor. Luse is director of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union. Palm is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Reckford is a classics professor. Sullivan is dean of the Kenan-Flagler Business School.

These seven UNC Hospitals nurses recently received 1998 Nursing Recognition Awards from the University's School of Medicine. The School of Medicine established the award in 1990 to recognize outstanding achievement by nursing professionals at UNC Hospitals. The award winners were selected based on three criteria: demonstrated excellence in nursing practice; evidence of special qualities of caring and compassion; and commitment to teaching future health care providers. The winners receive a $1,000 award to be used for professional development.
