Carolina is gearing up for its annual University Campaign and wants you to "Get in the Picture."
This year's theme encourages all faculty and staff to get more involved in the life of the University by making a contribution. Last year, 1,711 University employees gave more than $1.3 million to academics and programs.
"Faculty and staff members make a difference every day in the lives of Carolina students," said Tim Minor, associate director of the Carolina Annual Fund. "It's exciting to know that these same individuals make a difference through their private support of our academic programs. Those who invest not only their time and energy but also their own money are wonderful caretakers of this great institution."
Please make your contribution to the campaign by June 30, 1999. All donors will appear in a University Gazette honor roll in the fall.
"We want to make this year bigger and better than ever, and here's a chance for everyone to get involved," Minor said.
Campaign materials were scheduled to be mailed Feb. 22 to all employees. Donors can check off the area(s) they want to support, and contributions may be made by cash, check or payroll deduction.
A billion questions?
An article in the Jan. 13 Gazette described planning for the University's next fund-raising campaign, with an expected goal of at least
$1 billion (see http://www.unc.edu/news/gaz/bil
lion.html for the article). Want to know more?
The Gazette's March 10 issue will include a Direct Line feature devoted to answering questions about the campaign.
