Exhibition expands cross-cultural dialogue

The Ackland Art Museum will feature "Transatlantic Dialogue: Contemporary Art In and Out of Africa" Dec. 19 through March 26.

Michael Harris, assistant professor of African and African American art history, is guest curator of the exhibit that features 40 paintings, sculptures and mixed media works by 14 artists.

An opening reception on Jan. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. is free and open to the public.
