Faculty phased retirement begins
Nine faculty members will begin their phased retirement by August 1, thanks to
a new program offered by the Benefits Department of the Office of Human
Resources Services.
These are the first faculty members to participate in the Phased Retirement
Program for Tenured Faculty.
This program is designed to provide more flexibility and support for faculty
members nearing retirement. The program provides a three-year contract of
half-time employment for faculty who resign their tenured appointments.
The program is voluntary and must be entered into by a written agreement.
Faculty who are eligible for this program in Fall 1999 will receive
information in the mail this fall.
For more information, contact Nora Robbins at 2-5952.
