Season tickets are on sale for the North Carolina Symphony's 1998-99 Chapel
Hill Series. The concerts are at 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Pre-concert
discussions are held at 7 p.m.
The program includes:
* Sept. 19, associate conductor William Henry Curry with Mozart' s Symphony
No. 38 and Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet;
* Nov. 14, Gershwin's An American in Paris, Bernstein's symphonic suite from
On the Waterfront and pianist Anne-Marie McDermott performing Rachmaninoff's
Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini;
* Jan. 16, "L'inverno" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Weber's Concerto in F
major for Bassoon and Haydn's Concerto in E-flat major for Trumpet--featuring
orchestra members;
* Feb. 13, Michala Petri performing Koppel's Moonchild's Dream concerto for
recorder and orchestra and Vivaldi's Concerto for Recorder and Strings; and
* May 8, Franck's Symphony in D minor and violinist Chee-Yun with Dvorak's
Concerto in A minor for Violin and Orchestra.
For subscriptions, which range from $74 to $105, call the symphony's ticket
office at 733-2750, ext. 260, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Single ticket prices have not been determined. Call the Raleigh Memorial
