The Department of Dermatology presented its first Staff Excellence Awards to Jo Webb, administrative secretary, and Wendy Hill, clinic processing assistant, in honor of outstanding performance. They were nominated by faculty, staff and residents in the department.
Webb, who has been with the department since 1985, was praised for doing whatever was necessary to get the job done.
"She is certainly a team player and radiates a positive and pleasant attitude," one nominator wrote. Another said, "Jo has been extraordinarily helpful and resourceful in answering my questions. ... Her exceptionally upbeat attitude helps to make it a pleasure to work in the Department of Dermatology."
Hill, who joined the department in 1995, was described as a friendly, wonderful person.
"She is efficient and always available--the first to volunteer to help you," a nominator said. Another wrote, "Wendy does excellent work, learns quickly and is able to handle several functions at once. She is patient and helpful with patients and in helping to train new employees."
