The Employee Forum, at its July 7 meeting, debated making changes to its guidelines that would modify the procedures for election of forum officers.
The debate represented the first reading of the proposals, which must be considered again before being adopted.
Several of the proposals are designed to establish more detailed procedures for officer nominees to make presentations to the forum ahead of the officer elections. Another proposal would allow forum delegates to vote for forum officers by absentee ballot.
An additional proposal would establish a succession method under which the forum's vice chair would take over as chair in the event the chair does not complete his or her term.
Another proposal would revise the forum's guidelines so that 50 percent of the forum represented a quorum. Currently, 35 percent represents a quorum.
