The Rev. Billy Graham receives his honorary doctorate from Chancellor Michael Hooker during the May 12 Commencement. Also receiving honorary degrees were Nobel laureates Seamus Heaney and Rudolph Marcus. Heaney, the featured speaker, said there was no sure-fire kit for success. He urged graduates to be true to themselves, to go into the world with boldness and to give their best contributions.
