First master's program for working nutritionists offered

The nation's first master's degree program in public health nutrition for working nutritionists will begin this fall.

"We are the only program in the country that will offer opportunities for full-time or employed nutritionists," said Meg Molloy, coordinator of the executive master's program in public health nutrition at the schools of Public Health and Medicine.

"Executive students will take four to six hours a semester using distance learning approaches, including weekend courses, independent study, satellite telecourses and intensive summer courses," she said. "Nutritionists can gain field experience in their local communities."
