The Department of Sociology marks its 75th anniversary with a public celebration at 1:30 p.m. March 29 at the Hill Alumni Center.
Two panel discussions will focus on the department's growth from its founding by Howard W. Odum in 1920 to its current roles. "Reflections: The Department--the Discipline," will be chaired by Glen H. Elder, Odom Distinguished professor of sociology, and "Service to North Carolina and Beyond," will be chaired by Henry Landsberger, professor emeritus.
