McNair lecture features renowned theologian

The Rev. Dr. Lindon Eaves, an Episcopal priest of the Diocese of Virginia, distinguished scholar and faculty member in the Department of Human Genetics at the Medical College of Virginia, will deliver the 1996 John Calvin McNair Lecture on Science and Theology at 8 p.m. March 27 in Hill Hall.

McNair, who will speak about "God, Genes and Justice: Genetics in Theological Perspective," holds degrees from the University of Birmingham, England, and the University of Oxford.

The McNair lecture series was established in 1908 through the bequest of Presbyterian clergyman John Calvin McNair, class of 1849, to examine the harmony of science and religion. The lecture is sponsored by the Committee on Established Lectures.
