*Allan Steckler, professor of health behavior and health education and associate dean of the School of Public Health, won the 1995 Distinguished Career Award from the American Public Health Association's Public Health Education and Health Promotion Section. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the practice and profession of health education.
*Aleda Roth, associate professor of operations management, won a 1995 Award for Excellence for Outstanding paper from the international journal, Benchmarking for Quality Management & Technology, Vol. 1 No. 1, 1994.
*Stephen S. Birdsall, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, received the 1995 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southeastern Division of the Association of American Geographers, a 90-year-old association comprised of 7,000 members. Birdsall has served in several leadership positions with the division and in 1994 was president of the association.
