*The Department of Psychiatry needs volunteers who currently experience symptoms of depression for a study on changes in attention, memory and problem-solving that can accompany clinical depression.
Participants will stay overnight in the UNC Hospitals General Clinical Research Center and will be given a medical evaluation, psychiatric interview, self-report questionnaires and battery of neuropsychological tests. They also will have their blood drawn.
Study participants, who cannot be taking any psychiatric medications, will receive $100. For information, call Ann Kopanski, 6-6811.
*Pre-menopausal women ages 30-50 who suffer from excessive menstrual bleeding are needed for a Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology study. Participants will be treated for excessive bleeding and will receive $300 for completing the study. Call Anne at 6-7764.
*Men or women ages 18-55 who have a diagnosed or suspected leg length inequality are needed for a study by the Department of Physical Therapy. Participants will be X-rayed to determine the validity of a device that uses a carpenter's level to measure the height of the two pelvic bones.
