Tillman receives GAA Faculty Service Award

Rollie Tillman Jr., chairman of the Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, received the General Alumni Association's 1996 Faculty Service Award for his diverse contributions to Carolina and its students, as well as to the state.

Tillman always has focused on teaching throughout his many roles at the University spanning 45 years. "When a stranger asks Rollie what he does, his first answer is that he teaches at Chapel Hill," the award citation reads.

During his career, Tillman has served as vice chancellor for university relations, director of the MBA Program and director of the business school's Executive Program.

"Rollie Tillman is a remarkably effective spokesman for Carolina and a most deserving recipient of this prestigious award," said Douglas S. Dibbert, alumni association president.
