Adams busted

A bust of Maynard Adams, Kenan professor emeritus of philosophy, has been given to the University by Carolina grads Crawford and Marlene Taylor. The gift was made to honor Adams and his contributions during his 42-year career at Carolina. "I know how much he contributed to the whole University community," said Crawford Taylor. He hopes the bust will serve as a "loving, grateful recognition of the contributions he's made to my own personal life, to the University community and to the lives of other students." Adams, who retired in 1990 but continued to teach a course each semester until his health prevented him this spring, is the recipient of the Outstanding Educator of America Award and UNC's Thomas Jefferson Award.
