SUBMISSIONS

Contact us as early as possible so we can plan the best coverage for your story and schedule a photograph, if desirable.

Material must be submitted in written form - preferably by e-mail to gazette@unc.edu - to avoid errors and must include your name and telephone number in case the Gazette staff needs more information. Material may also be sent by FAX (962-2279) and campus mail (CB #6205). If you FAX material, clearly mark it for the Gazette because we share the machine with other offices. We suggest you call to confirm receipt.

Calendar Submissions
The calendar lists events of general interest that are open to faculty and staff, sponsored by Carolina departments, and held within Orange County.

Include all necessary information, such as:

Sponsoring department or organization;
Date, time and location of event;
Title;
Presenter(s) and position or affiliation;
Fee;
Additional information, including registration deadline; and
Phone number and/or e-mail and web address for readers to obtain more information and to register for the event.

Note: Be sure to list your event on Carolina's main online calendar at www.unc.edu/calendar.

Additional Tips
Include the Gazette on your campus mail and e-mail lists.
Send us your newsletter.
News Services' releases do not always reach us by our deadline, so do not rely on News Services to get material to us.

* If a deadline falls on a University holiday, the deadline will be moved back to the Friday before the holiday.
