Construction Watch Peabody Hall Overview Project location: Corner of S. Columbia Street and E. Cameron Avenue. Projected cost/funding source(s): $8.08 million/bond. Scope/benefits of project: Upgrade classrooms, replace air-conditioning and heating systems and generally refurbish building spaces. Projected construction timeline: May 20, 2002 - Dec. 26, 2003. Impact on campus aesthetics Trees/green space/landscaping: A few trees will be lost on the west side to accommodate the staging area. The impact on green space and landscaping will be limited to the staging area. Impact on parking, transit and pedestrian safety Parking and transit: Some five to 10 spaces will be lost intermittently in the Peabody lot. Traffic: The drive east of Peabody will have one lane closed during construction of a handicap ramp, which will take about one month and be scheduled by the contractor.
