Campus Y seeks donated computers

Campus Y is requesting donated computers with Pentium processors to give to a group of disadvantaged middle school graduates who have completed a course in computer skills taught by Carolina undergraduates under the Campus Y committee, SET for the Future.

The Campus Y will provide tax donation slips in exchange for donated computers. For more information, contact Campus Y Director Virginia Carson at 962-2333 or vcarson@ email.unc.edu

Employee Forum Community Meeting
planned June 27

The Employee Forum Community Meeting is scheduled for June 27 from 10:30 a.m. to noon in 100 Hamilton Hall. Chancellor James Moeser will be the featured guest at the meeting, offering employees the opportunity to ask questions about his visions for the University and how the staff fits into his goals.

Ackland to feature work
of area middle school students

More than 60 pieces will be featured in a free, public exhibition of area middle-school students' writings, drawings, paintings and sculpture May 12-Aug. 25 at the Ackland Art Museum.

The Ackland will host a free, public opening reception for the exhibition, In Our View: Middle-School Responses to the Ackland Collection, from 3 to 5 p.m. May 12, with many of the student artists present. On June 19, museum educator Beth Shaw McGuire will discuss the exhibition in a free gallery talk at 12:15 p.m.
