Jaquelin T. Robertson, architect for the new building of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities, will deliver the 12th annual Mary Stevens Reckford Memorial Lecture in European Studies Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
"The Setting for a Table on McCorkle Place" will be the topic of the free lecture, which is open to the public. It will be held in the Hanes Art Center auditorium.
The institute's building will be the first one added to McCorkle Place in 50 years, and Robertson took care to research adjacent buildings, such as Person, Memorial, Old West and Old East, to make sure everything, from his two-story design to the bricks and mortar, will fit in visually with the old buildings.
Robertson is experienced with projects such as this, having designed renovations to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello near Charlottesville, Va.
