Carolina's Earth Day events, "Greening a Blue Heaven," will take place between
the hours of 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on April 24 at Polk Place, near the
"champion" persimmon tree.
The day's events kick off with exhibits and acoustic music, followed by report
presentations and Green Games awards. The schedule of events is as follows:
11 a.m. -- 2:30 p.m. Exhibits
11 a.m. -- 12:15 p.m. Acoustic music
12:15 -- 12:30 p.m. Presentations to Vice Chancellor Nancy Suttenfield:
Student Environmental Action Coalition
report;
Carolina Environmental Student Alliance
report; and
Sustainability Coalition report, presented by Associate Vice Chancellor Bruce
Runberg.
Recognition of the 2000 Carolina Recycling Association Buy-Recycled Award to
University students, staff and faculty.
Remarks by Suttenfield.
12:30 -- 1:45 p.m. Acoustic music
1:45 -- 2 p.m. Green Games awards. Presentations by the Office of Waste
Reduction and Recycling and Vice Chancellor and Dean Dean Bresciani.
