Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend a 3 p.m. University Day
academic symposium, "The Future of the American Research University," at the
Carroll Hall auditorium.
UNC President Molly Broad will serve as moderator for the panel discussion.
Scheduled panelists are Marye Anne Fox, N.C. State University chancellor; H.
Bryce Jordan, president emeritus of Penn State University; N.C. Sen. Howard N.
Lee, co-chair of the Education and Higher Education Committee; C. Peter
Magrath, president of the National Association of State Universities and
Land-Grant Colleges and former president of the University of Minnesota; and
William C. Richardson, president and chief executive officer of the W.K.
Kellogg Foundation and former president of Johns Hopkins University.
