The deadline for faculty and staff to order season tickets for Carolina men's
basketball has been extended to Sept. 21, University Athletics Director Dick
Baddour has announced.
Baddour said the deadline was extended 10 days to make up for a delay in
delivering order cards to employees. Employees can still try to get tickets
after Sept. 21, but they will no longer receive priority status for being
employees.
To place an order, employees should fill out the ticket application they
received in campus mail. They can hand deliver the application to the Dean E.
Smith Center Ticket Office or mail it to: UNC Ticket Office, P.O. Box 3000,
Chapel Hill, NC 27512. (Do not use campus mail.)
Individual ticket prices have increased from $23 for the 1999-2000 season to
$25 for the 2000-01 season. As in previous years, no more than two tickets can
be purchased per family, even if both husband and wife are employees of the
University or UNC Hospitals.
This year's season ticket price is $300 for 12 home games plus $60 for tickets
for the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Classic. The
tournament format will have Winthrop playing Carolina and Tulsa playing Arizona
State on Nov. 10. Championship and consolation games will be played Nov. 11.
Two other limited packages are also being offered to accommodate families with
time or budget restrictions.
The first is a six-game package consisting of four Atlantic Coast Conference
games, two non-conference games and the NABC Classic.
The second package costs $75 and consists of two ACC games and one
non-conference game for $75.
The ticket office puts together the packages with an eye toward balancing the
quality of games included in each package.
The quality of seating is determined by a formula based on the number of years
worked at the University, along with the number of years employees have ordered
tickets. The Faculty Council and Employee Forum established the formula.
Tickets for two exhibition games and the Blue/White game can also be ordered
for $8 each.
