Weather radios supplied to campus

First Alert weather radios have been distributed to strategic locations on campus to provide better warnings of bad weather. The National Weather Service activates the radios and provides information when a potential weather emergency is in progress. The responsibility for monitoring the radios will fall to departmental emergency coordinators or to an administrative manager. The radios were provided by FEMA via Orange County Emergency Services. Locations on campus without radios can monitor the progress of weather alerts on the web at http://www.weather.com or http://www.wral.com or by tuning to 1610 AM radio.
