H.E.E.L.S. for Health sponsors Great American Smokeout

H.E.E.L.S. for Health is joining the American Cancer Society to sponsor the Great American Smokeout. This is a day set aside to encourage those who smoke to quit for one day. The idea is that if employees or their colleagues who smoke can quit for 24 hours, they may realize that they can quit forever.

H.E.E.L.S. for Health is offering a series of information packages that will be mailed to employees between now and the actual smokeout. This information will be both educational and motivational, encouraging employees or colleagues to quit for at least one day. It also will help them be mentally prepared for the smokeout, which is just weeks away. Along with receiving helpful hints in the mail, participants will enjoy a celebration of being smoke-free for 24 hours on the day of the smokeout. On this day, participants will be given a packet filled with goodies and information to help them enjoy their day of not smoking.

H.E.E.L.S. for Health is also planning to offer a smoking cessation class. Anyone interested in the class or for more information, call H.E.E.L.S. for Health at 2-2348.
