A five-star license has been awarded to the University's Frank Porter Graham (FPG) Child Care Center by the N.C. Division of Child Development.
The license is the highest awarded by the state and only the seventh five-star rating received among the 145 day and home care centers in Orange County.
The "stars" show parents how well the center or home is doing by program standards, staff education and compliance history.
The center also has been reaccredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This recognition has been achieved by only 7 percent of the early childhood programs nationwide.
