Samples of Slavic folk art, music, food and culture will be presented Oct. 19 when the Department of Slavic Languages & Literatures holds its open house in Toy Lounge of Dey Hall from 7-9 p.m.
Highlights will include performances of Polish, Serbian and Croatian folk songs, and a violin piece by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok. Students will display artifacts of contemporary Czech culture and Polish folk art, as well as photographs of their trips to Russia. And refreshments will include traditional ethnic foods such as kolaches, nut rolls, pierogis and Russian tea cakes.
