Holocaust survivor details her life in lecture and documentary film


Faye Schulman presents her "Out of the Woods: The Memoirs of a Woman Partisan, 1920-1950," On Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in 100 Hamilton Hall. Schulman will talk about her pre-Holocaust life, the Nazi genocidal killings, her years as a woman partisan in a mostly male unit, and the early years after World War II.

In addition, a documentary film based on Schulman's life as a partisan, "Out of the Fire," will be shown the previous evening, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m., in the Carolina Parents' Association Room in the Undergraduate Library.

Sponsored by the Graduate History Society, the programs are also co-sponsored by the Center for European Studies, the Curriculum in Women's Studies, the Curriculum in Peace, War & Defense, and UNC Hillel.
