James Moeser took the oath of office on Oct. 12, officially becoming
Carolina's ninth chancellor on University Day.
Now he's going to get to know more of the faculty, staff and students who
will help him fulfill his pledge to serve Carolina.
Moeser will launch a "Listen and Learn" tour next month, with plans to
visit each of the University's 13 schools, the College of Arts and Sciences and
other major campus units over the next several months.
"I'm anxious to get started," Moeser said. "I've devoted much of my time
since arriving here to rallying support for the bond referendum, but now I want
to make it a priority to get around campus and meet the people who make us one
of the best universities in the nation."
Moeser's goal is to orient himself to the University's major units and to
learn about the challenges and opportunities they face.
The order of Listen and Learn tour stops will be based on when the tour
site was established -- the older the site, the sooner the visit. Scheduling is
now under way.
