Jan. 14 basketball game has special meaning for health care employees

When the Carolina women's basketball team takes on N.C. State Jan. 14, the game will mean more to UNC Health Care employees than to the usual fans, because that's when Head Coach Sylvia Hatchell plans to present a check to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Before the season started, and after enduring a suspected cancer scare of her own, Hatchell announced that for every season ticket sold, she would donate $5 for ovarian cancer research. The amount of the check is being kept a surprise.

The game will be played at 1 p.m. in the Dean E. Smith Center.
