Looking for a chance to meet lots of eager students? FallFest 2000 is searching for some "Distinguished Dippers."
The annual back-to-school outdoor event being held Aug. 20 will again feature an "ice cream social." Faculty volunteers are needed to serve free ice cream throughout the night. From around 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., faculty and other special guests will dip in 15-minute shifts. Call the Carolina Union at 6-3120 to sign up for a time slot.
Employees can also have an information table at FallFest (call Jon Curtis at 2-1461) and are needed as volunteers to help the event run smoothly (call Tammy Lambert at 6-3128).
A no-alcohol block party, FallFest will be from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. along South Road, which will be closed to traffic. Activities will be centered around the Carmichael fields and in front of Carmichael Auditorium.
The event will feature free food, entertainment, prizes, organization tables, climbing walls and a big slide.
All members of the University community are invited.
