Deborah Hawkins receives 3-Legged Stool award from Employee Forum
At its Aug. 2 meeting, the Employee Forum presented its highest honor to Deborah Hawkins, parking control and special events manager in the transportation and parking department.
The 2017 Employee Forum Community Award (also known as the Three-Legged Stool Award) recognizes distinguished contributions by individuals who work to promote cooperation and collaboration among faculty, staff and students.

Hawkins accepted the award and the miniature wooden stool that goes with it, saying, “Awards that people receive are not just for them. It’s for all the people who made them look good.”
The forum also honored Gena Carter, who will retire from the Office of Human Resources at the end of August.
The unanimously passed resolution conferred lifelong delegate status to Carter, a 15-year human resources employee. Carter has “consulted, supported and presented indispensable and wise counsel to this forum,” in the words of
